- What type of housing does Taylor Residences offer?
- Taylor Residences’ housing includes independent
lifestyle one and two-bedroom apartments, assisted
living and nursing care.
- How old do you have to be to live in one of the
Taylor Residences’ facilities?
- For the majority of our accommodations, you must
be age 62 or older. HUD guidelines regarding age are
applicable for wheelchair accessible apartments. Call
Taylor Residences for specifics.
- How expensive are the facilities at Taylor Residences?
- Taylor Residences strives to keep resident fees
as low as possible. Actual monthly rental will vary
depending upon the facility, level of care and applicable
subsidies. Taylor Residences is a not-for-profit rental
community with no up-front fees.
- Are meals included?
- Meals are included in assisted living and nursing
settings. Meals are not included for residents in
apartments but are available in the assisted living
facility for a small charge. Menus are printed weekly
and are planned with the oversight of a Registered
Dietician.
- Is housekeeping done?
- Housekeeping is included in assisted living and
nursing settings. Housekeeping is the responsibility
of residents in apartments and they are certainly
free to hire someone to provide this service.
- What kinds of activities are available?
- A wide gamut of activities is scheduled based on
the interest of our residents; i.e., entertainment,
games, exercise, lunch out, Jacksonville Symphony
Coffee Series, and spiritual opportunities. Each facility
provides a calendar of scheduled activities so residents
may easily choose events that are of interest.
- May I bring my own furniture?
- Yes. Apartment and assisted living settings are
unfurnished so you may bring your cherished pieces.
The nursing home, however, is furnished; but residents
may bring pictures to hang and personalize the area.
- May I bring a pet?
- One small animal is acceptable in apartment settings.
There is a pet deposit and community rules apply.
Ask for specific details pertaining to the community
of your choice.
- What is an Assisted Living Facility (ALF)?
- It is a residential care facility that provides
housing, meals, personal care and supportive services
to persons who are unable to live independently. Unlike
nursing homes, assisted living facilities do not provide
24 hour nursing care. Taylor Manor is private pay
assisted living facility. Taylor Home Assisted Living
has income guidelines according to HUD. Please call
for details.
- Who regulates Taylor Manor ALF and Taylor Home ALF?
- The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration
(AHCA) inspects and licenses assisted living facilities.
- Is care available for someone who may wander away?
- Taylor Manor Assisted Living has accommodations
for residents who may be at risk for leaving the property.
Entry doors to the secure unit are operated by numeric
keypad. A fenced courtyard provides a secure outdoor
area.
- What is the availability at Taylor Residences?
- While most of the facilities have waiting lists,
please call to determine the current availability.
The availability in the short-term rehabilitation
unit at Taylor Care Center changes daily.
